Celebrating International Women in Engineering Day

June 18, 2025

Monday 23rd June marks International Women in Engineering Day, a global awareness campaign that aims to shine a spotlight on the incredible achievements of women in engineering and encourage more young women to consider careers in the field.

First launched in the UK in 2014 by the Women’s Engineering Society, International Women in Engineering Day has since grown into a worldwide celebration of innovation, resilience, and progress. The theme of this year’s celebration is ‘Together We Engineer,’ highlighting the power of collaboration in driving innovation, inclusion, and progress across the engineering world.

At Anglian Water Direct, we’re proud to work alongside some truly inspiring women through our partnership with HomeServe. These talented female engineers are not only breaking barriers. They are fixing boilers, solving problems, and delivering first class service to our customers every single day. The dedication of all HomeServe Engineers to going the extra mile for customers, delivering excellent service really embody the spirit of the day. But today, we want to particularly call out the skill and professionalism of the female engineers. We’re pleased to celebrate their contributions, not just today but all year round.

Engineering is not just about tools, technology and innovation. It’s about people. The engineers who show up 365 days a year, who bring expertise and empathy into every home they visit, and who prove that there’s no limit to what women can achieve in this field. It is also about the customers we serve and the trust they put in us.

Our partnership with HomeServe continues to thrive because of the passion and excellence these engineers bring to their work. Join us in celebrating all their hard work and dedication.
